Our eight-channel powerhouse promises NADs legendary performance with reliability and stability with lots of installer-friendly features. The NAD CI 8-120 is an advanced amplifier targeted squarely at high performance distributed audio systems. Delivering a conservative 8 x 120 watts per channel @ 8 ohm, it is also bridgeable to 4 x 200 watts per channel @ 8 ohm. IHF Dynamic Power in bridged mode is 4 x 350 watts per channel @ 4 ohm. To put it simply, the CI 8-120 will drive most anything you need in your multi-room audio system.
The hybrid digital amplifier platform delivers stable and efficient power with high current capability, all in a slim 1U rack space. To make this level of performance possible, the CI 8-120 DSP uses a customized version of the proven Hypex UcD output stage. This allows for massive power with extremely low distortion and noise in the audible range. Every detail of this design has been carefully executed to wring out every last drop of performance. Designed to deal with the demands of the CI world, it was made to handle long cable runs and difficult speaker loads.
NAD is keenly aware that reliability is paramount for a professional installer so all models will be based on tried and true amplification platforms delivering stable and reliable performance. The CI 8-120 amplifier is stable at 4 ohm impedance. A variety of power methods are available as well as an Eco mode setting for minimal power consumption.
In this updated version, the CI 8-120 DSP v2, weve left the great performance alone and focused on simplifying the set-up, adding new features and improving efficiency.

The CI 8-120 DSP v2 offers NADs world-renowned sonic performance at an unrivalled cost per zone. This powerhouse is capable of delivering a conservative 120 watts per channel at 8 ohms into all channels simultaneously, bridgeable to 200 watts per channel. IHF Dynamic Power in bridged mode is 4 x 350 watts per channel @ 4 ohm.
As per NADs FDP ratings, the power we declare is what you can expect in the real world, we rate our amplifiers based on continuous power into 8ohms, with all channels running simultaneously, using a full frequency response and THD at rated power.
To put it simply, the CI 8-120 DSP v2 will drive almost anything you need in your multi-room audio system.

The CI 8-120 DSP v2 uses a customized version of the proven Hypex UcD output stage to deliver great load invariant power with extremely low distortion and noise floor. Every detail of this design has been carefully executed to bring out the best possible performance. Meticulously designed and built to deal with the demands of the custom installation market, the robust nature of Hybrid Digital amplification makes it ideal for installations. With a high current output and being load invariant, it handles 4 ohm loads as easily as it does 8 ohms and can effortlessly handle long cable runs and difficult speaker loads while maintaining audio quality.
Whether listening to background music at lower volumes or turning it up, NAD delivers a consistent, linear sound, which is clear, detailed and dynamic at all volume levels.
Rack Space Efficiency and Reliability
NAD is keenly aware that reliability is paramount for a professional installer, so all models will be based on tried and true amplification platforms delivering stable and reliable performance. Since rack real estate is always at a premium, NAD CI amps have been designed to take up as little as possible. Thermostatic fans draw in cool air from the front of the unit and out through the rear vents, meaning you dont need to leave ventilation gaps between each unit for it to stay cool. For the CI 8-150 DSP v2 efficiency and heat dissipation has been improved even further by adding the ability for unused amplifier channels to switch off completely in Zone Sleep mode.
Web UI/DSP
The CI 8-120 DSP v2 is network ready for simple set up, via the custom WebUI. The updated interface still allows fast set up of IO but with new clearer layout, plus the creation of DSP profiles using the Parametric EQ. In addition is a new Dashboard, providing a live read out of the units status, improved power management, faster startup time, user password protection, channel grouping and global input on/off per zone and zone sleep with instant wake time. Over and above the previous V1, there is an expanded DSP suite with Peak and RMS limiters, delay and phase control so that bridged channels can safely be used to power subwoofers. I/O switching and routing can also be managed via compatible control systems with drivers available for Crestron, Control4, Elan & & RTI.
System suggestion
Combine the CI 8-120 DSP v2 with an NAD CI BluOS Enabled audio streamer to create a complete, hi- res multi-room package of incredible value and quality. For a step- up in source performance, the BluOS Enabled Bluesound Node Icon or NAD C658 would also compliment the extra power of the CI 8-120 DSP v2 perfectly and add Dirac Room Correction software capability for stereo or 2.1 setups.

The CI 8-120 DSP was designed to contend with the demands of a wide range of integration applications while retaining the same sonic characteristics found in our traditional Classic Series products, while parametric EQ allows the installer the ability to fine tune each channel to the characteristics of the zone.
